Quantum of Solace (2008)

Hotel and Boat Chase Scenes/Panama City and Colon City

Parts of the old part of Panama City (Casco Viejo) on the Pacific side and islands of Bocas del Toro and parts of Colon City on the Carribean were used to recreate the Haiti and Bolivia scenes of the James Bond 007 Quantum of Solace. An old historic building (former Union Club)in Casco viejo was used which was revamped just for the film. Set in Bolivia, one scene was an elegant evening extravaganza during which Dominic Greene (a criminal mastermind played by Mathieu Almalric), delivers an important speech. There were 700 extras, including local Panamanians, in this scene. The scene shot in Colon city included Bond's heroic boat chase action scenes where he speeds up to the dock in his powerboat and carries the beautiful Camille (Olga Kurylenko) ashore who has been hurt.
