I haven’t been to NYC for about seven years and way back then I wasn’t quite as obsessed with finding film locations as I am now – though I do recall the first movie location I was desperate to track down was the Ghost Busters Spook Central Apartment building (the one Dana Barrett lived in) and that was on my first trip to New York back in 1996!* On this trip I did find and photograph locations from Men in Black, Carlito’s Way, Zoolander, National Treasure and The Devil’s Advocate as well as finally visiting the holy grail of movie locations: The Ghost Buster’s firestation. Also got to see the big piano from Big and listen to a very good rendition of the song from a young lad and one of the FAO Schwartz staff. I was hoping to take a trip with On Location’s New York Film Locations Tour but because I was only in town for a few days over the 4th July I didn’t really have enough time to do it (next time though!)
